Certification Requirements

  • 21 years old or older.
  • Attend the entire course.
  • Participate in discussions and practical exercises.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to organize, conduct, and supervise safe shooting activities and range operations.
  • Achieve an examination score of 90% or higher.
  • Finalize credentialing at nrainstructors.org and pay required fees.
  • NRA Membership is not required but does make the credentialing process easier. 

This class is conducted primarily within the clubhouse. A range may be used depending upon weather and availability to simulate conducting RSO activities in the range environment. Dress accordingly for the weather on the day of class.

Upon completion of this course students will become NRA Certified Range Safety Officers.


NO live ammunition is allowed in the clubhouse during this class.
