ALASKA TACTICAL & SECURITY INC: STAGE 1 PISTOL COURSE

This two-day entry-level pistol course covers safe and effective ownership, use and proper maintenance of a handgun.  Through utilization of demonstration, lecture, range procedure and some simulation drills the participant is taught safe handling of a handgun in close distance situations, either on the street or for home-defense. Both beginners and individuals with previous handgun training will benefit from this course by learning the ingredients to improve proper skill development.  The participant will achieve a higher level of confidence and will learn necessary safety measures when carrying a handgun for protection in defensive situations.

This course will work two sides of the spectrum, both mental and physical. This is a shooting and manipulations class. I base these courses upon most of my martial arts training, and experience. I incorporate many of the methodologies and techniques from the years of my Budo training, I can translate the platforms with a much better understanding.
We will cover in depth fundamentals regarding stances, proper firing grip, the proper presentation (draw stroke), sight application from bullseye to combative. Also, we will exercise the proper trigger control depending on application. This course will also cover malfunctions, the indicators and the proper clearance drills facilitating the weapon back into service.  Also included are proper magazine exchanges.
We will discover the ability to engage multiple adversaries more efficiently and sooner using sights and recoil. Introduction to movement and communication. There will be an evaluation shoot at the end of the course to help you understand and evaluate your performance.

Requirements:
  • Mid to full size semi-auto pistol.
  • Iron sights or red dot.
  • 4 magazines minimum.
  • Holster can be Appendix Inside Waistband, strong side OWB or IWB.
  • 800 rounds of ammunition.
  • Ear and eye pro.
Cost: $525.00 and $10.00 range fee.
