Students will be taught the basic firearms safety rules, safe pistol handling procedures to include loading and unloading, draw from the holster, and pistol presentation.
Students will receive instruction on the basic fundamentals of pistol marksmanship at the start of the course, and learn to apply the fundamentals on bullseye targets.
Students will drill emergency and tactical magazine reloads, while learning to clear stoppages and learning to work through immediate and remedial action drills.
Students will next learn the concept of controlled pairs and failure to stop drills while engaging silhouette targets, as well as multiple target indexing.
Students will also learn non-standard shooting positions and the uses of cover while shooting from concealed and/or covered positions using VTAC barricades, while discussing the differences between cover and concealment.
Students are recommended to bring between 300-400 rounds of pistol ammunition.
